Looking for an upscale resort with offerings of luxury, relaxation, fun and a total escape? Gaylord Opryland Resort is located just Northwest of downtown Nashville. This stunning hotel makes you feel as if you have traveled much further than Nashville, with over 9 acres of indoor greenery, including waterfalls, and 17 different dining options on site. (Currently during Covid-19 some dining options might not be available, I would recommend visiting their website to see a full list of available dining options.)
Guest rooms face in interior atriums of the resort where you can overlook the beautiful lush landscaping, restaurants and other activities below. Guest room options can include a balcony that gives your a front row seat to all the action taking place. We had two rooms with a Deluxe Parlor in between for extra living space. The Deluxe parlor offers a Murphy bed for extra guests and features its own full bathroom and kitchen area with a mini fridge and microwave. The Deluxe parlor was simply stunning, modern decor including a gas fireplace! Our attached rooms were amazing, mini fridge included in both of those as well as a sitting area. We had plenty of space and plenty of bathrooms for all 5 of us girls!
In the Delta atrium of the resort, you can catch a boat ride on the Delta Riverboat Company that will take you on a tour through 4.5 acres of Deltas indoor garden. The boat travels down a river that has been filled with the waters of other Rivers from all over the country, and the Catfish that come with it! You can also catch an exciting Water Light Show nightly starting at 7pm just outside of the Delta Marketplace! I highly recommend the veggie pizza at Paisano’s Pizzeria & Vino. The slice was the size of my head and the veggies were delicious. We sat outside with some Rosé while eating our pizza and taking in the beautiful Delta River and Waterfall.
If your kiddos love to swim as much as mine you will be happy to know that Gaylord Opry offers 3 heated pools PLUS an amazing waterpark, SoundWaves! SoundWaves covers an additional 4 acres of the Gaylord Opry Resort and has dedicated fun zones for toddlers as well as adults. Click here to read about all the amazing attractions found inside and outside at SoundWaves. My personal favorite, besides the Cabanas of course, was the Down Tempo Lazy River. Did I mention they have 11 water slides? YOLO. We spent the day at SoundWaves taking full advantage of all they offered. They kindly gave us a Cabana for the day and it was so nice! Flat screen TV, fridge filled with waters and soft drinks and long curtains you can drawl for privacy. We ordered lunch straight to our Cabana, you MUST try the mango tacos. Worth every belly roll.
I was absolutely blown away by the Gaylord Opry Resort. From the moment we entered the property I was impressed with the cleanliness, friendliness and beauty of the entire place. I know traveling during these uncertain times can feel a little scary, but I felt very comfortable and safe at our stay at Gaylord Opry. All precautions were taken to ensure guests safety and to follow social distancing guidelines in the resort. If you have found yourself need a little getaway, wether its for a couple nights or an entire week, I highly recommend going and enjoying all the amazing attractions the Gaylord Opry has to offer. I hope to venture back real soon!
